MARCH 2008, MARISOL U. RODRIGUEZ IS NEW LINCOLN CENTER DIRCTOR
Marisol Rodriguez was one of two winners of UNO's 2007 Horizon Student Entrepreneurship Award competition. Originally from Columbia, Rodriguez assisted Spanish-speaking clients and area entrepreneurs in business start up at the EntrepreneurShop, NBDC's Omaha center, while pursuing a master's in economics at UNO. Rodriguez, formerly Marisol Uribe, was recently married to Marcos Rodriguez.
DECEMBER 2007. NEW CONSULTANT IS MULTILINGUAL
The Omaha center welcomes a new graduate assistant consultant, Maya Fadel. Fadel, an MBA student at UNO, will begin her assistantship in January 2008.
Fadel was selected from a list of highly qualified candidates who completed NBDC's dual interview process in November. She brings additional talents to our already accomplished group of graduates. Maya is verbal and written fluent in Arabic, English, Spanish and French. She obtained her BA from UNO in International Studies with a minor in Spanish. Her work experience includes: sales, personal banking and another research graduate assistantship.
NOVEMBER 14, VETERAN OWNED BUSINESS EVENT
Omaha Mayor Scott Fahey was among special guests at Scott Conference Center on the UNO south campus. The event which was developed to put veteran business owners in contact with services and resources was presented by NBDC procurement technical assistance program.
OCTOBER 17, BUY THE BIG O SHOW
NBDC was well represented by staff: Roger Johnson, Paul McMeekin, Prabin Kanel, Andy Alexander, Julie Burrell, and Maria Arredondo at the 2007 Buy the Big O show at the Quest Center.
